The Ruidosos Fellowship is designed to train emerging communicators who are ready to use creative communications and digital strategies to build people power and win the change the Rio Grande Valley needs. Apply by 9/17 or share this with someone you recommend!
For our pilot cohort, we are looking for 2 fellows. Each fellow will be paired with a local host organization to create and run a digital campaign that supports their mission. Ruido Studios will support the fellows throughout the program with coaching, mentorship, and training. This is a 30-week paid fellowship.
We are honored to partner with Frontera Fund and The Sidewalk School as our local host organizations for this cohort. These organizations are at the frontlines of organizing and providing community aid at the Texas-Mexico border. Fellows will have an exciting opportunity to expand their skills while supporting the mission of Frontera Fund and The Sidewalk School.
For too long, the popular story of the Rio Grande Valley has been misappropriated by corporations or extremist politicians who ignore the realities of those of us who live here. With their deep pockets and big platforms, they spread lies about who we are for their own personal gain.
But the South Texas story doesn’t belong to them— It belongs to us. It belongs to you. And we believe that the Ruidosos Fellowship will give local storytellers and organizations the tools they need to tell the real story of the Rio Grande Valley. Together, we’ll define the next chapter of our history.
