Meet Edith Cuevas, one of our amazing Spring ‘25 Ruidosos Fellows! 🙌

Edith is a youth engagement and communications leader in the Rio Grande Valley. In her role as director of communications and co-founder of BLOOM RGV, she works closely with her fellow co-founders Clarissa Riojas and Clarissa Conde. Frustrated with the harmful narratives surrounding youth civic apathy, they created BLOOM RGV in 2024 as a vehicle to help educate, uplift, and mobilize young people.
Since they launched, BLOOM RGV has registered over 1,200 young voters, hosted over 50 civic education workshops, partnered with over 30 local high schools and colleges, spoken to over 2,000 students, and cultivated three BLOOM leaders as part of its leadership development program.
In Edith’s words, she envisions a future where “young people are able to feel supported and empowered to exercise their vote so that we build a future together where we can all blossom.”
We are so proud to have Edith as part of our Ruidosos Fellowship. During her time with us, she is researching radio and podcasts in the Rio Grande Valley to help social justice organizations reach more constituents across the region.
Help us welcome and congratulate Edith by leaving an encouraging comment on our Instagram post!
