The core of Ruido Studios’ mission is to invest in the leadership of narrative and communications leaders in the Rio Grande Valley. We know our people have the talent, skills, and ganas to take back our story and change the way the world talks about the border and who we are.

We spent an intense and incredible week together at our Academy learning from RGV-made experts and sharing strategies to help us continue doing the important work to take back our narrative. One of our favorite features of our programming is that we exclusively work with experts who are from the RGV or the Texas-Mexico border. This helps us ensure that our members are learning how to do this work in a way that is relevant, practical, and inspiring. 

The Spring ‘25 Academy cohort was made up of local organizers, storytellers, and emerging communicators. They work on a broad range of topics from immigration and climate justice to civic engagement, film, and arts and culture.
